Virginia Foreign LLC Registration

If you own an LLC located outside of the state of Virginia and you want to do business in Virginia, you will register your limited liability company as a Virginia foreign LLC. Once filed, the state returns a certificate of authority from the Corporations Division of the Virginia Secretary of State.

As your registered agent, we can register your out of state Virginia LLC for the state filing fee plus $100.

OR, you can do the filing yourself, and just sign up with us as your Virginia registered agent. All foreign LLCs in Virginia will require a registered agent. You can have this service for $49 a year.

Once you sign up for Virginia registered agent service, you will be logged into your client account online where you’ll find the foreign Virginia LLC form you file with the Virginia Secretary of State, Corporations Division.

After taking a look at the resources and forms we include in your client account, if you do not want to actually file the paperwork yourself, you can find and click on the “add services” tab in your client account, and let us file the paperwork for you for $100 plus the state filing fees. As part of that service, we also will obtain the proper documents from your LLCs home state that are needed to properly register you in the Virginia Secretary of State.
